HENTON HIGH COURT FINDS NEW HOME IN CHINA

Henton High Court “Hugo” has found new owners in China, he has recently landed in Shanghai. Gabriella and Micaela Orchard, originally from New Zealand, are excitedly waiting for his release from quarantine. Hugo was most successful eventing in New Zealand with daughter Olivia and latterly Renee Faulkner. With Olivia recently contracting to work in London for the next two years, we made the sad decision to sell our beloved Hugo. He has been an outstanding all rounder, eventing, show jumping, show hunter and dressage and we know the girls will have years of fun with this lovely boy. He too, will be pampered in his new home, he will love every minute of that! All the very best to Gabriella and Micaela and we look forward to their updates.

HENTON FLEUR-DE-LIS WINS SHOW JUMPING CHAMPIONSHIOP AT HORSE OF THE YEAR

Henton Fleur-De-Lis (For Edition / Stolzenburg) and Emelia Forsyth won the Harrison Lane 1.25 show jumping Championships at the recent Land Rover Horse of the Year. This is a very exciting eight year old mare. Henton Lodge wishes Emelia and Fleur all the best for the next show jumping season

HENTON HIGH COURT WINS AT CLEVEDON

Henton High Court (Hyperion / Limonit) took out the win at the recent Clevedon Horse Trials. Coming back after a well earned break, Hugo and Renee Faulkner took the early lead with a 80% dressage. HENTON FIRST IMPRESSION WINS AT BROOKBY HORSE TRIAL

Henton First Impression, a five year old mare (French Buffet xx / Stolzenburg) capably ridden by Renee Faulkner, clearly took the win at the recent Brookby/Papatoetoe Horse Trial. With a 71% dressage, Bonnie had a good show jumping and a bold double clear cross country, to take the win. Bonnie will now step up a level at her next start. HENTON AMBASSADOR AND KATE GARNER SUCCESS CONTINUES

We are delighted to report that Kate and Henton Ambassador (Anamour/Distelfink) Ben to his friends, continue a successful partnership in Australia. They recently won the 1* class at the Geelong Horse Trials. Henton Lodge wishes Kate and Ben all the very best for their future together.

HENTON FINESS FINDS FABULOUS NEW HOME

Henton Finess (By French Buffet XX from the Elite Mare Henton Exclusive) is a beautiful dark brown, just turned five year old, mare. She has recently joined the exciting stable of Family Stirling. “Claire” also known as Claire Bear, will be most capably competed by Sav Stirling of Stirling Collection fame - she recently featured modelling a Stirling Collection rug. French Buffet XX is a thoroughbred stallion approved for Hanover and Henton Exclusive is the dam of Donna Smith’s DSE Henton For Glory. This is also the family of Henton Attorney General and Henton Executive. Henton Lodge with Sav, Brendan and Dee all the very best with Claire and we are excited to see them out in competition.

HENTON AMBASSADOR NOW IN VICTORIA WITH YOUNG RIDER

Henton Lodge are delighted that Henton Ambassador (Anamour/Distelfink) has a new home in Victoria, Australia with a young rider, Kate Garner. Kate and Ben are currently getting to know each other. Kate reports he has been “really lovely”, he “has been super” and “amazing”. Henton Lodge and Matthew Grayling, Ben’s previous rider, wish Kate all the very best with Ben and we will be watching him with huge interest as you both sneak up the levels.

HENTON AMBASSADOR TAKE TAUPO WIN

Henton Ambassador (Anamour/Distelfink) and Matthew Grayling, have returned after a wee break - while Matthew had a bit of hip remodeling. They have resumed in style, taking out the Donnell Sherry sponsored CCI2* recently at Taupo. Matthew and Ben lead after the dressage, finishing on this as a final score. The Henton Ambassador Syndicate were delighted with this return to competition and wish Matthew and Ben all the best for the balance of the event season.

HENTON FOREIGN AFFAIR GOES TO NEW HOME

Henton Lodge Hanoverians are delighted to announce junior show jump rider, Maddison Jackson and her mother Carolyn Lockstone, are the new owners of Henton Foreign Affair - by For Edition from Henton Elite, Escudo I / Distelfink / Crown Lease xx. “Pierre” as he is known to his friends, is by the same sire as World Cup mare Henton Faberge and on his dam side, very closely related to Henton Attorney General, Henton Executive, Henton Ambassador, just to name a few from the successful family. Henton Lodge Hanoverians wish Maddie and Pierre all the very best and we will be closely following their progress.

HENTON ABSTRACT ART GOES TO NEW HOME

Henton Lodge is delighted to advise Henton Abstract Art (Anamour/Distelfink/Crown Lease XX) has a new home with Harriet Gelb, her mother and father Tara and Danny. Harriet is familiar with the Henton breeding programme, having recently secured the younger Henton High Class. Dianna to her friends (named due to her royal breeding - being a full sister to Henton Attorney General and half sister to Henton Executive - both past winners of Puhinui CCI4* plus numerous other high profile eventing competitions) is a seven year old mare who has been lightly show jumped, dressaged and evented. Henton Lodge Hanoverians are very excited, and look forward to following Harriet and Dianna this coming event season.

HENTON AMBASSADOR TAKES WIN AT TAUPO THREE DAY EVENT

The Henton Ambassador Syndicate were delighted to be on hand to celebrate the all the way win by Henton Ambassador - Anamour / Distelfink, at the recent prestigious Taupo Three Day Event, marking the end to the autumn eventing season. Ben and Matthew Grayling finished on their dressage score of 25.6 in the CCI2*-L. Matthew and his wife Susan are members of the syndicate as are Chris and Vikki Nicholson and Henton Lodge Hanoverians. The syndicate are excited for this very promising brother to Henton Attorney General and very much looking forward to the coming spring season.

HENTON HIGH CLASS FINDS NEW EVENTING HOME

Henton Lodge are delighted to advise that Harriet Gelb and her mother and father, Tara and Danny, are the new owners of Henton High Class. “Peaches” to her friends, is by Hyperion from Henton Lucille. The four year old mare has been brought on slowly by Donna Smith eventing and we wish Harriet all the very best with their stylish, purpose bred young event horse.

FOUR YEAR OLDS COMPLETED GRADUATION AND READY FOR NEW HOMES

The crop of 2016 have successfully completed their graduation as riding horses, and are now being fine tuned to become competitive athletes. All three are available for sale - Henton High Class, a filly by Hyperion from Henton Lucille - Limonit/Anamour/Distelfink/TB. Henton Foreign Secretary, a gelding by For Edition from Anabar - Anamour/TB. Henton Foreign Affair, a gelding by For Edition from Henton Elite - Escudo I/Distelfink/Crown Lease XX.

Hyperion is the son of the famous Thoroughbred stallion Heraldik who sired a significant number of top eventing horses for Germany. For Edition is the sire of Henton Lodge’s current World Cup show jumping mare, Henton Faberge. Henton Elite is the sister to Henton Executive who won Puhinui CCCI4* and a half sister to Henton Attornery General, who also won Puhinui CCI4* plus a significant number of other high profile events in both New Zealand and Europe.

These young horses are in further education with Donna Smith.

HENTON ARMADA TAKES WIN AT MATAMATA

Henton Armada known to her friends as Annie, owned and most capably ridden by Christen Lane, took out the OJZ Promotions CCN2*-S at the recent RANDLAB Matamata Horse Trial. Christen and Annie won the dressage phase with a 24.5 or 75.5% score, added one show jump rail to that, but went fast and clear to win the class. Henton Lodge wishes Christen and Annie all the very best for the rest of the season.

SUCCESS AT METALFORM SOUTHERN & CENTRAL HAWKES BAY SHOW JUMPING CHAMPS

At the recent Metalform Southern & Central Hawkes Bay Show Jumping Championship show both Henton Faberge and Henton Excalibur produced solid, consistent, way above average performances.

Henton Faberge, partnered with the talented rider Emelia Forsyth for a second placing in the Young Rider class. On Sunday they were one of two 4 faulters after the two round World Cup competition. With the first round clear and one rail in the second, in a star studded field of the best 10 World Cup horses in New Zealand. A slightly slower time saw them awarded a most credible second place, an outstanding achievement considering the combination only stepped up twelve months ago to World Cup level.

Henton Excalibur and Oliver Edgecumbe, a recently new combination, continued their current success. George was second in the 1.40 class, this was backed up with a 3rd place in the Mini Prix and another 3rd placing in the 1.40 speed class.

Henton Lodge wish both Emelia and Oliver more successes for the remainder of the show jumping season.

NEW HOME FOR HENTON SOLICITOR GENERAL

Henton Solicitor General (Satisfaction / Limonit / Anamour / Distelfink) has found an exciting new home with mother and daughter team Mary Verran and Maddie Stuart. “Charles” is enjoying show jumping, where he collected a ribbon at his very first show, will be having fun hunting and has already been on Christmas holidays with his new family. Henton Lodge wishes the Stuart family lots of fun and success with this exciting young horse.

3* PUHINUI SUCCESS FOR HENTON LODGE

The Puhinui International Three Day Horse Trial FEI Championship Prestige Equestrian 3* class saw Henton First Lady (For Edition/Anamour) most capably ridden by Bundy Philpot win the prestigious class ahead of a very strong field. Third was Henton Audacious (Anamour/Distelfink) most capably ridden by her owner Abigail Long.

Henton First Lady was sixth after dressage and completed cross country in strong form clear and fast, she show jumped clear to take the win.

Henton Audacious was close after the dressage, went clear and fast cross country incurring no time penalties, one show jump rail still saw her take out third place ahead of a very strong Championship field.

Henton Audacious also won the FMG Young Horse Class, which was run in conjunction with the Prestige Equestrian 3* class , a fantastic result for Daphne and Abby, who also took out the Bucas Young Horse class in 2019. Such a consistent combination for the future.

Henton Lodge are very excited with the prospects for both these combinations going forward and will be following with interest. We wish them all the best.

HENTON FABERGE & HENTON EXCALIBUR EXCELL AT GISBORNE

Henton Faberge (For Edition/Genius) and Emelia Forsyth, won the Isaacs Electrical FMG Young Rider class at East Coast Performance Horses NZ Young Horse Show at Gisborne.

At the same show Henton Excalibur (El Bundy / Dynamit) and Oliver Edgecumbe were a very close second in the Massie Stable 1.30 show jumping class.

Henton Lodge is very proud of both these outstanding, talented horses and their equally talented riders and we wish them all the very best for the summer show jumping season.

HENTON SERENADE EARLY SUCCESS

Bailey Rutter and Henton Serenade (Satisfaction/Distelfink) has had wonderful early success showjumping. Bailey and “Sav” to her friends, competed at the recent Solway showgrounds in Masterton. Winning their first 1.40m and also taking out 1st = in the mini prix. Henton Lodge are excited for this combination and wish them the very best going forward.

FURTHER SUCCESS FOR HENTON AMBASSADOR

Henton Ambassador and Matthew Grayling continued their successful partnership at the recent horse trial at Taupo. At their first step up to CCI3-S “Ben” to his friends, was second after dressage, which was an outstanding result considering the more challenging test and competing against some of the best riders and seasoned horses in New Zealand. Ben rolled a show jump rail, which saw him finish the first day in 3rd position. Sunday saw Ben and Matthew take the step up in cross country course in their stride and in good time. This saw the combination take their first win at 3* at their first step up to this level. The Henton Ambassador Syndicate are very excited about this horse and his future.
